Janelle, Hospital Manager/Veterinary Technician

Janelle has been a significant part of the Paws & Claws family since it opened in January 2014. She started in the Veterinary field in 2002 as an assistant. In 2009, she graduated from Stautzenberger College as a Registered Veterinary Technician. A few years later, she realized her passion for canine massage therapy, and so she went on to become a Certified Canine Massage Therapist. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, hiking, crafting, and baseball with her family: Cody (husband), Xavier (son), and Alyssa (daughter). She also shares her home with her dog Harper.

JoAnna, Veterinary Technician

JoAnna comes to Paws & Claws Animal Hospital with 32 years of experience in the animal field. Starting at 16 as a dog bather, she then worked at the Toledo Humane Society. Realizing she could turn her love for animals into a career, she attended Stautzenberger College and graduated with an Associate Degree in Animal Science. After working as a technician for 13 years, she took a 13-year hiatus to run her own grooming salon/mobile grooming business. She is now ready to re-enter the field as a Veterinary Technician. Her passions include animals, crafts, and spending time with her family.

Summar, Veterinary Technician

Summar joins the Paws & Claws family for a second time. She did her externship here with us and graduated from Stautzenberger College in 2018. Summar was with us for 1 1/2 – 2 years. She is going to school now for her L/D nursing degree. Passions are taking care of animals and loved ones when needed. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her family Finance Mike, baby boy Michael and 2 cats, Autumn and Marley.

Sarah, Veterinary Assistant

Sarah joined our practice in May 2019. She is a recent graduate of Bowling Green State University, where she studied biological and chemical science. Growing up next to Goodyear’s farm in Brunswick, Ohio, she quickly learned that she had a love for animals and hopes to soon further her education in veterinary medicine/pathology. She shares her home with her boyfriend, Graham, and her dog, Blue. In her spare time, you can find her kayaking, fishing, hiking with Blue, or cheering on her favorite basketball and hockey teams.

Caryssa, Veterinary Assistant

Caryssa grew up taking care of a Feral colony, and because they began to trust her, it sparked an interest in Behavior. She got certified as a Fear Free Professional. Caryssa is currently in school to become a registered veterinary technician. She lives at home with her boyfriend Nick, 3 dogs (Maggie, Ben, and Gus), and 3 cats (Maizly, Cookie Dough, and Fat Butt). Caryssa also is a foster for kittens when needed. If she gets some spare time, she likes to paint, build legos, and do projects around the house.

Daniella, Veterinary Assistant

Rosemary, Veterinary Assistant

Rose is a Michigan native who graduated from the University of Findlay with a bachelor of science in both English Equestrian Studies and Equine Business Management. After graduation, she spent several years riding and training at two barns in North Carolina. Wanting to do more to help animals, she decided to return to school to become a Veterinary Technician. She has a horse named Malcolm and 3 cats ( Coco, Louie & Rasputin). She is an avid shark week enthusiast, and it is her dream to one day move somewhere warm and live by the ocean so she can learn to surf and take her animals on beach adventures.
